Spiritually Fit

Blog

Welcome to my Spiritually Fit Blog, also known as my TAWG (Time Alone With God) Blog.  I have started this blog journey in the book of Matthew and will continue on through the rest of the New Testament.  In most cases, each blog will be focusing on one chapter of scripture, and my current plan is to post one blog per week (Wednesdays).  My intention with this blog is to encourage people to not just read the bible, but to realize that the Lord can and will speak to you even in the dullest of chapters.  Don't just read the Bible, but allow the good Lord to speak to you through His Word and apply what you learn to your life.
"Be transformed by the renewing of your mind through His Word."

Just spent some time reading in Matthew 24 during my Time Alone With God (TAWG), and this chapter really focuses on some of the signs of the end times. It can also really get you thinking about the importance of always being in tune with Jesus and being ready for the end of times. Let’s dive in a bit deeper by taking a look at some of the scriptures that stood out to me.

Just spent some time reading in Matthew 23 during my Time Alone With God (TAWG), and WOW, this chapter is super rough! Throughout this whole chapter Jesus is calling out the teachers of the law and the Pharisees for their hypocrisy and I can only imagine how upset, embarrassed, and convicted they must have felt. In today’s blog we are going to dive into some scripture where Jesus is sharing how one can avoid being a hypocrite....

Just spent some time reading in Matthew 22 during my Time Alone With God (TAWG) and there are just so many good nuggets of information in this chapter. However, in today’s blog I am going to narrow down all of that great information to one big and amazing nugget, which is “Love the Lord your God… the first and greatest commandment”. Let’s take a moment to look at the fullness of that section of scripture and then we will talk...

Just spent some time reading in Matthew 21 during my Time Alone With God (TAWG) and it blessed me to be refreshed on one of my favorite scriptures. Jesus challenges the disciples to have mountain moving faith, and I believe that the Holy Spirit that dwells within us is constantly pressing us to have mountain moving faith too. Let’s dive right into that section of scripture so that you can get a better understanding of what I m...

Today’s blog is Part 2 in a 2 part series of blogs on Matthew 20. If you haven’t read “Part 1 – A Lifestyle of Serving”, than be sure to give that one a read before reading this one. In today’s blog I want to share on the second section of scripture that stood out to me in Matthew 20. In that section we see the persistence of two blind men calling out to Jesus to get their healing.

Today I spent time reading in Matthew 20 during my Time Alone With God (TAWG). Two sections of scripture stood out to me in this chapter. The first section of scripture that spoke to me is when Jesus says that He came to serve, not be served. The second section of scripture that stood out to me was the persistence of two blind men to get their healing from Jesus. In today’s blog I will be focusing on the first section of scrip...

In today’s blog I want to share on the section of scripture where Jesus says that “With God all things are possible.”

Today I spent time reading in Matthew 19 during my Time Alone With God (TAWG) and two great scriptures stood out to me. The first scripture that stood out to me is a scene where Jesus is telling His disciples to “let the children come to Me”. The second scripture that stood out to me is when Jesus shares about how “nothing is impossible with God”. In today’s blog I will focus on the first scripture, and in next week’s blog I w...

If you haven’t read “Part 1 – Healing My Past” and/or “Part 2 – The Struggle is REAL”, than please read those blogs before reading this one… reading those two blogs should help this blog to make a lot more sense. In today’s blog I want to focus on the next step that I took in my healing process, which is actually the name of this blog, “Forgive Others as Christ Forgave U...
